Horley Under-9s 312 (20 overs), Sutton Under-9s 283 (20 overs). East Surrey Colts League. Horley won by 30 runs.
Horley Under-9s avenged last week’s first round cup defeat to Sutton with a splendid league victory against them. Having been asked to bat Horley started conservatively, protecting their wickets before Jack James bludgeoned 33 off the last four overs of the innings to help Horley set a promising target of 313.
Sutton responded strongly and pushed the score along throughout their innings but calm heads and accurate bowling from Horley kept the runs in check.
Finlay Toward claimed two wickets and a great run out whilst Ethan Marks gave away just four runs off his two overs whilst getting a wicket. Ultimately the run rate became too much with Sutton finishing 30 runs short on 283.
