Horley Under-9s 276 (20 overs), Reigate Priory Under-9s 308 (20 overs). Priory won by 32 runs.
Horley welcomed Reigate Priory for their penultimate league game of the season and Priory’s opening bowlers posted plenty of dot balls against Horley’s opening pair of Charlie Webber and captain Riley Hill.
Luke Benjamin, in the third pairing, claimed Horley’s first four of the match, while Ryan Smith hit two fours in a good partnership with Thomas Hitchman. The closing pair, Alex Mutton and Finley Jakins, gave a much needed boost to Horley’s total, making 35 between them including two sixes and three fours from Mutton, but also lost a couple of wickets.
Reigate Priory had a score of 276 to chase and quickly stated their intentions with two fours in the first over.
Horley then managed to keep the run rate down with plenty of dot balls and singles before Reigate started to find the boundary again.
Smith, Ruben Money and Beau Money all took a wicket for Horley with Mutton and Jakins claiming two each, but an outstanding diving catch by Benjamin in the final over had to be the wicket of the day.
