Horley’s East Surrey Colts League Under-15s team moved to joint top in the table with a big win at Merstham.
After both Horley openers were out for ducks, Aryan Patel and Christian Kelly rebuilt the innings, making 53 (retired) and 41 respectively. Zack Collins hit a quick 17 not out and Ben Cooper eight not out to take Horley to a total of 141 for three from their 20 overs.
Merstham were reduced to two for two early in their reply after Joe Willis ran out Noah Young in the first over and Alex Field bowled the other opener, Luca Retter, for just two. Field bowled Matt Retter in his next over and under-13s player Evan Grimwood then had Edward Cecil caught by Willis.
The wickets continued to tumble, with Cooper taking two in one over, plus a catch for Grimwood’s second wicket, Will Agombar (two overs, one maiden, one wicket for one run) bowling Merstham skipper James Cripps, and Shae Meacher taking the final wicket caught and bowled. Merstham, who had two batters run out without facing a ball, were all out for 52.
