Old Rutlishians Under-15s 101 all out (23.4 overs), Horley Under-15s 217-3 (24 overs), NEC League, Sunday 2 June, Old Ruts. Horley won by 116 runs.
Horley opener Christian Kelly hit 113 not out (retired) as Horley’s Under-15s picked up a big win in the NEC League.
Kelly and Shae Meacher put on an opening stand of 82 and after Meacher was dismissed, Kelly continued to pepper the boundary with dozens of fours. With his powerful hitting, he gave a couple of chances – not least when he was dropped going for a six to reach 100 – but it was an excellent innings.
Cameron Newton made 19 and Aryan Patel was not out 27 as Horley ended up on 217 for three from their 24 overs.
Horley reduced Old Ruts to 21 for four inside five overs with Ben Cooper bowling both openers and Freddie Holland bowling the number three.
Cooper ended up with three wickets (3-28 from five overs) while Alex Field (2-11) and Jacob Burton – in his first game - picked up two each and Holland took a second in his second spell. Only three Old Ruts batters reached double figures as Horley bowled them out for just 101 runs to record their third NEC win out of three this season.
