Horley were well-beaten in the Under-15s League Cup final at Lingfield, as the hosts matched Horley’s target with 4.5 overs to spare.
Horley made 109 for seven from their 20 overs, with Joe Willis leading the way, retiring on 52 not out. The middle and lower order couldn’t match his scoring rate against good bowling and Horley knew their total might not test Lingfield.
Jude Powell took an early wicket to give Horley hope, but Lingfield’s second wicket partnership made 76 in good time before Aryan Patel bowled Oscar Ford for 34. Zack Collins picked up two wickets in an over, but Horley, having dropped a couple of catches, couldn’t stop Lingfield cruising to the win.
