Horley Under-10s made a rocky start to their match at Dorking, as the home team’s bowling was excellent, with Jessica Cooper taking four wickets as Horley’s first two pairs struggled to score.
In the 3rd pair Charlie Webber hit a couple of good fours, and then the fireworks came, with Edward Rhodes in the fourth pair hitting two big sixes in his score of 20. Jack James scored 7 in well-timed singles and in the final pair, Ryan Smith scored 14 off the bat, helping Horley to 256.
Horley showed great determination in the field and there were bowled wickets from Jonathan Limb (two), Jack James (two), Thomas Hitchman, Finley Jakins and Ryan Smith, plus four run-outs, including a direct hit from Jakins, with the others well taken by keeper Edward Rhodes.
