Horley 2nd XI made it four league wins on the bounce with a five-wicket triumph over Long Ditton which leaves Horley 15 points clear at the top of the Surrey County League 2nd Xi Division One, with a game in hand over the teams in second and third.
Long Ditton chose to bat first but were bowled out for just 114. Matt Puttick bowled both openers and ended up with figures of nine overs, three maidens, two wickets for 11 runs. Chris Cosham took three wickets for 22 and Darren Croft three for 32, while Aryan Patel and Saleem Nadir picked up a wicket each.
Horley passed Long Ditton’s total with time to spare, making 118 for the loss of five wickets. Opener Dave Hyde top-scored with 43, Andrew Thomas made 25 and Puttick 20.
This Saturday Horley will hope to further extend their winning run, as they travel away to Sheen Park, who are in the bottom half of the table.
