A second century of the season from Andrew Burbidge helped Horley 2nd XI stay top of the league thanks to a winning draw at Shepperton.
The hosts, who are level on points with Horley at the top of the Surrey County League 2nd XI table, took seven bonus points from the match and Horley got five, plus two for the winning draw.
Shepperton put Horley in and the innings didn't get off to a great start with Josh Mason getting out for a second ball duck. However, despite losing regular wickets – with Matt Gainsford making 22 and Dave Hyde 14 – Horley were putting a good display of batting, especially when Anthony Puttick and Burbidge put on 91 for the third wicket partnership.
Puttick got out to a great catch at mid-off for 31, but Burbidge was looking in fantastic touch and his century came in just 73 balls.
Regular wickets were tumbling at the other end before Burbidge was eventually out for 101. Matthew Puttick ended up on 36 not out as the Horley innings closed with the huge total of 257 all out from just 39.3 overs.
After a fantastic tea Horley skipper Darren Croft opened the bowling, immediately making an impact with two back-to-back maidens. Gainsford opened from the other end and bowled exceptionally with three maidens in his opening spell.
Chris Cosham and Matt Puttick came on first change and kept the ship steady with some accurate and quick bowling, they Aryan Patel and Tom Clargo joined the attack with Clargo instantly making an impact, getting a wicket maiden in his second over.
