Horley 2nds kept up their 100% winning record in County League Division One this season, making short work of beating third-placed London Gymkhana.
Skipper Darren Croft elected to field first and his opening bowlers, Chris Cosham and 15- year-old Aryan Patel made a fine start, taking early wickets in great spells.
Cosham ended up with five wickets for 35 from his 12 overs, including two maidens. Two of his wickets were clean bowled and the others were catches from Anthony Puttick, Stuart MacPherson and Andrew Burbidge.
Puttick took three wickets for 24, including a caught-and-bowled, Patel took one for 14 from six overs and Matt Gainsford took one for seven as London Gymkhana were bowled out for 84.
Horley openers Andrew Thomas and Dave Hyde got the hosts off to a great start and put on an excellent partnership, which was broken when Thomas was caught on 45. Soon after, Hyde was out lbw for 24. MacPherson and Puttick came in and finished off the run chase to seal Horley’s sixth league win on the bounce. Horley remain joint top of the league with Shepperton, who they travel to play this Saturday.
