Horley 2nd XI Saturday 11th August, Old Cats Playing Field, Surrey County League 2nd XI Division One

11/8/2018

Caterham 2nd XI 149 all out (43.1 overs), Horley 2nd XI 177 all out (44.3 overs). Horley won by 28 runs.

Horley dug deep to bowl Caterham out and maintain fifth spot in the league, 13 points off the promotion places, with 15-year-old Kaine Stephens leading the way by taking his first five-wicket haul.
Aryan Patel and Andrew Burbidge opened the batting for Horley and gave them a good start before Burbidge was caught on the boundary going for a big six.
Zack Collins, from the club’s under-14s, came in at four and batted really well to score a respectable 46 supported by Adam Razak, who was also in good form, but Horley were bowled out for 177 in their penultimate over.
Skipper Darren Croft bowled a miserly opening spell, going for just 23 runs from nine overs, while Stephens was picking up his wickets at the other end. Horley bowled Caterham out well short of the target and are 29 points ahead of the sixth-placed team in the league.
