Cricket has been played in Horley for well over two centuries! We love cricket!
We are a small club with big ambition to bring cricket to our whole community. Our ground at Horley Row is the envy of many clubs that visit us. During the summer, the club is a hive of activity, with cricket played every day of the week. Whether you’re playing or spectating, when the sun’s out and the bar is open, there’s no better place to be in Horley.
We have fun cricket, we have competitive cricket, we have cricket for all ages, men and women, girls and boys. Our teams are:
Our Successful club
Horley Cricket Club is booming. Our membership is increasing and the number of our teams expanding.
We have set up a new Horley 3rd XI, this year playing friendlies with an ambition to join a league in 2022. The Ladies team have joined a League and a T20 cup for the first time.
Horley’s successful 1st team has recently been promoted to the Fullers Surrey County League – 1st XI premier division 2021. You can look at the fixtures and results of all teams on http://horley.play-cricket.com
As a Club, we pride ourselves with bringing Colts through to the senior teams and our recently promoted 1st team regularly field 8 former Colts. Ben Davies, himself a former colt, heads our team of coaches who provide training across the teams. As part of our Club development, we are encouraging senior Colts to participate in Surrey and Sussex coach development courses.
During the season, Colts training takes place on Fridays and all teams have regular nets practice during weekday evenings. Winter training usually starts in February with indoor nets training and practice, both adults and Colts.
The season culminates in the Dennis Kirby Cup, with six teams of seven competing for the DK Cup. Teams are made up from the U13s through to the 1st XI. With Big Bash cricket and a big crowd, this day encapsulates Horley CC at its best.
We have a Horley Cricket Club YouTube channel where you can see many teams in action!
